We have had 9 new members join the ranks of the South East Poolies since we announced the season ticket challenge. The challenge is for 15 new members before July 14th in order for us to purchase a 2nd Season Ticket. We have new members from Kent, Essex, London, Southampton and West Sussex. I would like to welcome them all and hope they enjoy being members.
Also on the same note please remember that membership is not restricted to the South East, but most benefits will be felt by those living in this area. Fans from other parts of the country are welcome to become members and will join other members who do not live in the South East.
SOUTH EAST POOLIES SEASON TICKET
We are now 1/3rd of the way to achieving enough new memberships to purchase a 2nd South East Poolies Season Ticket. The 1st Season Ticket has now been purchased from the club and will be available for members to use on a ballot system. If you are the only member requesting it for that particular game then it is yours. As soon as the fixtures are released, forms will be sent to members asking for their preferences. This will then be looked at once the July 15th deadline has passed.
Remember only 10 more memberships are needed in order to reach the target of 15 which is required for a 2nd ticket to be purchased.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
The 2010-11 SEP Player of the year was Anthony Sweeney. He was voted by members and was the clear winner. This is fine reward for a player that has progressed through the Youth Ranks and seems to have been with the club for an eternity. By his own admittance he had not been at his best prior to last season, but rediscovered the form of his early years and showed why he had so much promise. It’s great to see that he has stayed loyal to the club like they did to him by signing a new contract. A trophy has been handed to the club who will pass it on to him. Whilst Hartlepool United Chief Executive, Russ Green was keen to highlight the importance of the reward to saying “I believe that receiving this award was key to him signing a new contract”. I personally expect he has had a new trophy cabinet delivered in order to display it proudly.
Other nominees, who were all seen to have had impressive seasons were; Sam Collins, Evan Horwood and Joe Allon! A few members also stated that they would like to see Jake Keen mentioned and thanked for his efforts.
