MEMBERS PROFILES

This is a new section and features members of the South East Poolies. After discussion at a previous meeting several members expressed an interest in having profiles on the website.

These profiles are set in the usual Q&A format and are intended as a bit of fun for the person writing and also people to read. What this also does is introduces members that don’t already know each other. We have found over the past season that people have arrived in the pub prior to a game and announced that they are an SEP Member. This is great and shows the progress that is being made, but this section allows us to break the ice before the pub!

All members should have been e-mailed the questions but if you have not received them, then e-mail to kentpoolies@hotmail.co.uk or cut and paste the ones from here and send them to us.

UPCOMING EVENTS

19th OF DECEMBER- QUIZ NIGHT WITH GISC

The South East Poolies will be attending the Gillingham FC Independent Supporters Club quiz night on Monday 19th of December. Kick-off is at 8pm and all are welcome to join us. The quiz takes place at the Brasenose Club, located in Nelson Road, Gillingham. The club is a 5-10 minute walk from Gillingham Train Station.

SAT 25th OF FEBRUARY- SEP MEETING

The next meeting will be the game at Wycombe Wanderers on the 25th of February. The venue is not yet confirmed but we will be chatting to their Supporters Club about possibly using their facilities.

HARTLEPOOL WEEKEND

A reminder that arrangements have been made for the Hartlepool weekend against Sheff Utd on March the 31st.
 
We will be catching the train on Friday and returning on the Sunday. The Friday train will be leaving late morning so that people don’t have to pay for a Peak-Time ticket into London and to take into account connections from other areas. The cost at present cannot be confirmed as both the train and hotel are yet to reveal their final price, but will certainly come in at under £100 (as little as £80). Because of this we have set the price at £100 for the weekend and will make refunds as necessary. Costs will be broken down into detail at the forthcoming meeting.
 
Payment details are as follows;
December 31st- £40 non-refundable deposit
January 31st- £30
February 29th- £30
Those that wish to are able to pay higher amounts than specified, including the full amount by the 1st date.
 
For those that would like to travel independently and just pay for the hotel please contact Stu on 07789 734790 to make arrangements and cost. Full details for the weekend will be on the site in next few days but please contact Stu to register your interest ASAP.

PLEASE NOTE- For those wanting to book travel and hotel through the SEP the payment dates are non-flexible due to money that has to be paid out on specific dates. Cheques are to be made payable to ‘South East Poolies’ and sent to 55 Roberts Road, Rainham, Kent, ME8 0AZ.

A big thank-you to Rob, who has volunteered to put a quiz together for the train journey to Hartlepool. I know Rob well enough to know that I am about to start swotting up as it will not be easy!
