Poolies In Sunny Southern England Dispatch

WELCOME to the latest Poolies In Sunny Southern England Dispatch, which will now be sent out to members in e-format. There are a few reasons for this, but the main one is that the website space is very quickly filling up. This means we need to be look at what info is loaded onto the site. Previously a word-copy was loaded onto the system, but this is what takes up a lot of space. The plan therefore is to e-mail snippets of info to members in this format.

Anyway back to 'interesting' stuff! It’s great to see that Pools are currently in a great run of form and that there is once again a feel-good factor around the club. Credit to Mick Wadsworth and the lads for working hard to put a smile back on the face of fans.

WATFORD
Pools will be playing Watford FC in the 3rd round of the FA Cup on Saturday 8th of January 3pm. The South East Poolies will be heading to the William Morris Labour Club in South Oxhey, which is near to Carpenters Park Station, only 2 stops from Watford. This club is run by Gregg Shumake, who is a life-long Poolie. The plan is to get there early then move closer to the ground for a few drinks before kick-off. Ticket Prices are set at £10 Adults £5 Concessions. Big well-done to both clubs for setting the prices so low and let’s hope they are rewarded with a big crowd and great game.

WEBSITE
As I have said the space is quickly filling up, we are currently at about 65% usage. This means that some older info and pictures will need to be deleted over the coming months. Any relevant info will be kept as well as the best pictures. The guide to Hartlepool is now advertised to every away team’s fans prior to their game against us via fans forums. This along with the guide to our away games means that site hits can be quite high which is hopefully going to help us when it comes to setting up members deals with businesses in Hartlepool.

SHEFF WED V POOLS
We plan to run a mini-bus to this Hillsborough for this game on Saturday 16th of April. I am happy to drive so the cost will only be for hire and fuel. This means that the cost will hopefully be between £20-25. Obviously the more who wish to travel the lower the cost. Please e-mail me if you are interested but final numbers will be taken closer to the time.

POLO SHIRTS
In the New Year we plan to have SEP Polo Shirts produced. They will be blue in colour and feature the SEP Logo/monkey on the left-hand breast. We hope these will cost around £12 each, but again the bigger the order the lower the price. We will be taking orders by mid-January.

TRIP TO HARTLEPOOL
We will need final numbers for this trip within the next week or so. Full details are on the website. Deposit is £30, but final numbers is the main issue at present.

FANCY DRESS
The SEP will be doing fancy dress once again for the last game of the season, which is at Charlton Athletic. The theme will be Baywatch!! This warning gives you plenty of time to tone, tan and wax the important parts of your body as well as search the web for gear.
