I contacted 12 Clubs asking permission to use my camera inside the stadium, this is a report of my experience and a League Table based on their response (or lack of it)
1 M.K. DONS
The first Club I contacted, they gave me a pass to go pitchside and use the Media Room.Free entry, what more could I ask for.
2 Watford
Same as M.K.DONS with a Pass but the Media room resembled a Scout Hut.
3 Bournemouth
Had the freedom of the ground once inside and the Stewards were helpfull and friendly.
4 Dagenham
With the ' Tunnel' at the away end it made it a dream for photos on the pitch. Had a chat on the pitch with Mick Wadsworth and Sir Ritchie.
5 Orient
The steward,Des, got me a Photographers' bib and I instantly turned into Frank Reid.
6 Brentford
The stewards allowed me pitchside, friendly and helpfull.
7 Colchester
I never got to this game but they replied to my E-mail offering help on the day.
8 Peterborough
They refused me access pitchside, warned me about their stewards if i took any action photos. Apart from that.....
9 Brighton
First Club not to reply to me but the stewards saved the day.Snowy escorted me ' Trackside' and I got a good photo of Mick Wadsworth and Mickey Barron amongst others.
10 Southampton
Second club failng to reply to me,but once again the stewards showed they run the show at some of these Clubs.
11 Charlton
No reply here either. They would have tied for last place if it wasn't for one Female steward who said her dad was born in West Hartlepool.
12 Swindon
Bottom of League One and bottom of my League. Not only did they not reply to my E-mail but when I asked the stewards on the day if I could go pitchside they said no. Good Riddance!!!
So there we are, first season over for me as the Frank Reid of the South East. Already looking forward to Stevenage and wondering if Sheffield Utd will reply to my E-mail. Who will let me in the Press Box and should I apply for Countdown as a presenter?
Terry
